Default Female Gamers?!

Hey, I searched for a thread like thisbefore but couldn't find any....maybe searched wrong and if so, I'm sorry. I'm just interested in how many girls really play GW? I've played a couple MMORPGs like Ragnarok Online, ROSE and PristonTale, yet many boys played female characters because they prefer watching a girls butt the whole game than watching a male character. I've also seen many female characters in screenshots/foru-avatars on here and I wonder who really is female from those players

~Taranis

More female gamers for Guild Wars!!

Default Female here

I'm female and prefer to play female characters. The only online games I've played are Diablo ii, Sacred and Ultima and I played female characters in all of them and all archers. I have one male Ranger in GW, Leo Black, but the other three are female.

Well, I am not female, but I know for certain of at least a couple dozen around this site that play,..that are female. I had to answer on one point though,.. I make both characters,..male and female. It all depends on the specific name I come up with, and what "story line" of my imagination it runs with. I've never considered the character I'm looking at for anything other than an animated presence.(being one of..as long as he/she is still fighting..i'm still in the game). If you considered a femme character for alternative reasons I would think you'd be dying a lot because you'd be too distracted.

I don't doubt the veracity of it,...but somehow I just think it would be a little too silly that way.

Certainly not, Inde. *Makes a coughing noise that sounds suspiciously like "Spooky!"*

I don't care much, one way or another, but I'm a guy playing primarily a male character. A cultured male character, even.

I'm male myself, but my guild has a good number of female players. In fact, it was put together over at womengamers.com and consists almost entirely of forum members from that site. We're still very small at the moment, admittedly, but women definately play this game. Percentage? I have no idea.

I play, but with a guild full of male gamers. So at least in my small segment of the population, I'm outnumbered about 15 to 1. That's slightly better than my major (6%), so I guess I'm just meant to live this way.

I'm male, but prefer playing female characters 3 to 1...Not for the "butt" shot as much as an appreciation of the finer points of character customization... Visually, more appealing (designers seem to pay more attention to the models for some reason), smaller models make smaller visual targets, in PvP you are more likely to be underestimated by some other, less refined, male players (God, I hate it when they flirt with me), and if you fully role-play the "girl" role, you can sucker better deals in trade from the "walking falice patrol"...not that I've ever sunk so low*ahem*...In the end, what else can I say, except that sometimes "I enjoy being a girl"...my wife thinks it's funny (as long as I stay outta her closet

Mr girlfriend is a gamer, and we spend time playing games together (Lucky me huh ) We played D2, Sacred and now GW. She's the only real life female in the guild thus far though.

I think there are about 3/4 females (real) in our guild AFF (Ascalon Freedom Fighters), but then again that's because we all know each other from our community that formed around the game Command And Conquer Renegade

I'm a female gamer, but I'm only one of 2 women in our Guild (Krypton Krew) so far, but then we probably will only have about 15-20 players in our guild. I don't really care if a player wants to "gender bend" as long as they play well.

My guild has loads of wonderful ladies in it, bunch of them are playing GW too. Actually, our GW branch guild leader is a lady. I've met some really groovy ladies in other guilds in the testing as well...and you can't forget Gaile, she's a gamer too
